This guide shares the steps to set up the integration between Karat and Lever. This content is intended for admins at your organization.
This integration enables your organization to:
- Invite candidates using Lever URL in Karat
- Post candidacy updates to Lever
- Auto state updating
- Ensure Lever roles match Karat roles
Prerequisites
Before beginning the setup process, you need to have the following user permissions:
- Admin in the Karat Platform.
- Site Super Admin in Lever.
If you don’t have these user permissions, contact your administrator.
Step 1. Generate a Lever API key
- Go to Lever.
- Make sure you have the permissions as a Super Admin in Lever.
- Go to the Integrations page under Settings in Lever.
- Find the Karat logo and click the toggle to green.
- Click "Generate new key". The system will inform you which permissions the integration with Karat will authorize.
- Copy the new generated API key from Lever and save it. You'll need it later.
Step 2. Generate your API key within the Karat platform
- Sign in to the Karat platform.
- Go to Settings.
- Go to ATS Integrations.
- If your organization has multiple groups, choose the group you are setting up the Integration for from the drop-down.
- Click Select ATS menu, located under Create New ATS Integration.
- Click Create. You will be sent to the following page.
- Click Settings, under the Integration ID.
- Add your Lever Key into the API Key field, by pasting it from step 1.
NOTE: You don't need to add a User ID to the Integration Settings.
- Click Save.
Step 3. Ensure Webhooks are Enabled
In order for allowing the auto state updates in Lever, we need to ensure three of the Lever Integration Webhooks are toggled to ON. This permissions let you get notifications from Karat in Lever.
- Go to the Webhook configuration page in Lever.
- Ensure the toggle next to the following Webhooks are ON (green):
- Candidate Stage Change
- Candidate Archive State Change
- Candidate Hired
Step 4. Check the ATS integrations status
Review the status of your integration and the features that it includes with the following steps:
- Go back to the Karat platform.
- Go to Settings.
- Click ATS Integrations.
- Click Status.
- You can see the overall status, basic information and features that your ATS integration includes.
